Program Overview

This mobile-first microlearning module reviews key updates in transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM) presented at ESC Heart Failure 2026, with a focused emphasis on underrecognized hereditary ATTR-CM and the p.Val142Ile (V142I) variant. Through interactive evidence reviews, congress data interpretation, and case-based decision-making, learners will examine emerging findings related to disease recognition, biomarker stabilization, outpatient worsening heart failure events, and variant-specific treatment considerations across approved disease-modifying therapies.

Designed for busy clinicians, this interactive microlearning activity integrates late-breaking congress evidence with practical clinical application to support earlier recognition of ATTR-CM in historically underserved and underdiagnosed populations, particularly African American patients with hereditary disease. Learners will engage with evolving therapeutic data, interpret clinically relevant outcomes, and apply evidence-informed strategies to diagnosis, treatment selection, and longitudinal management in real-world practice.

Target Audience

This educational initiative is designed for cardiologists, including general cardiologists, heart failure specialists, and electrophysiologists, as well as internal medicine physicians, primary care clinicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the recognition and management of transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
  • Apply structured diagnostic and genetic screening approaches for patients with suspected hereditary ATTR-CM, including those with the p.Val142Ile (V142I) variant
  • Differentiate clinical red flags and diagnostic features suggestive of ATTR-CM in underrecognized patient populations presenting with HFpEF, ventricular wall thickening, or unexplained heart failure symptoms
  • Interpret emerging ESC Heart Failure 2026 data related to ATTR-CM disease-modifying therapies, including biomarker, heart failure, and functional outcome measures
  • Evaluate evolving evidence across TTR stabilizer and silencer therapies to support individualized treatment selection and longitudinal management strategies in ATTR-CM
  • Integrate late-breaking congress evidence into clinical decision-making for patients with hereditary and variant-associated ATTR-CM
