Program Overview

The incidence of NASH is increasing globally along with increases in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. With these increases, it is critical that healthcare providers can determine the risk of their patients for developing non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and assess the risk of progression to NASH. Lifestyle and sociodemographic factors play an important role in the disparities of NAFLD. Significant advances have been made in the understanding of NAFLD/NASH pathophysiology, risk factors, and disease progression, leading to newer diagnostic approaches and therapeutic targets. However, navigating these developments is no easy feat.

This program is designed to bring forward cutting-edge perspectives to the diagnosis and management of NAFLD/NASH, as well as to highlight multi-disciplinary solutions that are ultimately needed to improve outcomes.
